Modern hotel facing Mediterranean (4*)
The Parador de Jávea is neatly nestled between two headlands of the Mediterranean Sea to the north of the Costa Blanca. It is set a few metres from El Arenal beach with stunning sea views and picturesque gardens, replete with palm trees and local flora.
This contemporary Parador is ideally situated for those wishing to pursue a coastal holiday whilst enjoying the elegance, and service, a Parador can offer. Light and airy, the Parador has a refreshing and welcoming atmosphere which echoes its location next to the inviting Mediterranean Sea. It provides wonderful views of the coastline, which can be enjoyed from various points the Parador has to offer as well as most bedrooms.
Guests can relax with a stint in the sauna, a swim in the seasonal outdoor swimming pool, or for those feeling a little more energetic, a dip in the sea. Afterwards, you can make your way to the restaurant gardens and sample the local delicacies prepared by the excellent Parador chefs whilst enjoying the stunning scenery. After your meal, why not wander down the pathway in the garden towards the water’s edge to enjoy the beautiful landscape from a closer viewpoint.
The Parador de Jávea’s rooms are spacious with many featuring good-sized balconies and excellent sea views.
Keytours tip:
Local bars and restaurants can be found within a stone’s throw of the Parador, but for those wanting to explore further, a 6-minute drive or 30-40 minute walk will take you to the seaside resort of Jávea. The town is set away from the larger resorts and boasts 20km of long sandy beaches and hidden coves where you can while away your days relaxing.
For the more energetic visitor, Jávea offers a broad range of watersports from windsurfing, to kite surfing, to sailing, as well as golf, mountain biking and riding. If you are travelling by boat it is even possible to moor it at the Fontana Canal just next to the Parador. Jávea also offers a historic quarter just 2km away from the main centre. Here you will find examples of historic architecture such as the church of San Bartolomé, which was a 14th century fortress that served two purposes, a place of worship but also a line of defence for Jávea. The church is sometimes open for visits, but it is best to check prior to journeying there.
Those staying at the Parador in June or September will be able to enjoy the local festivities of the St. John’s Bonfires (Hogueras de San Juan), which are normally held around the 18th June and take place along the sandy beaches, and the Our Lady of Loreto (Virgen de Loreto) festival which is normally held around the 1st September.
Jávea is located in the region of Valencia which is famous as the birthplace of paella, Spain's most emblematic dish. You will find many different paella options both in the Parador's restaurant and in local eateries, and we certainly recommend enjoying a plate (or two!) whilst you are in the area to sample true, authentic paella.
