Description
Parador de Monforte de Lemos - Historic palace and monastery (4*)
Perched on the highest point of the small Galician town of Monforte de Lemos, to the southeast of Santiago and surrounded by the rural area known as Ribeira Sacra, is a complex of impressive historic buildings: a medieval keep, the 16th-century Condes de Lemos Palace, and the 17th-century monastery of San Vicente del Pino. The Parador de Monforte occupies both the palace and the neoclassical monastery buildings dated back to the IX century, the latter incorporating a magnificent central arcaded cloister, and the former including three splendid function rooms and a banqueting room with a capacity for 300 people.
The Parador’s interiors incorporate the building’s original stonework and tiling with the contemporary décor. Similarly guestrooms are spacious and bright with simple designs that blend perfectly with the historical building.
Monforte’s Parador offers a wide range of facilities including a fully equipped gym, sauna and a spa, as well as a seasonal outdoor poor, there is also a golf course located a mere 3 km from the Parador.
Parador's 'Gastrobar' concept
Extensive lunch and dinner menus are served in the 'Gastrobar', which offers a range of meal options from light snacks to 3 course dinners in an informal but well serviced environment. We hope you enjoy this new experience.
