11th century Benedictine monastery (4*)
Housed within an impressive 11th century Benedictine monastery, the Parador de Corias makes full use of this splendid building’s architectural features. The site was declared a site of historic national importance and it is easy to see why. The rectangular building is 8000 square metres and comprises two pretty, green patios together with numerous archways and cloisters. The site also boasts a Tuscan style church where visitors can marvel at the great baroque altarpiece whose sculptures depict the foundation of the monastery.
The interior of the building retains a genuinely monastic style, combining this with the comfort of a modern, contemporary hotel. Rooms are comfortable and Junior Suites here are stylish using bold, but elegant colours. Among the Corias Parador’s facilities are a spacious restaurant, a café, as well as a library-lounge for relaxing and chatting. The hotel also boasts a spa complete with indoor leisure pool, treatment rooms and sauna. The Parador de Corias has various meeting and conference rooms ready to accommodate conventions, banquets or other events. These rooms can also be used in combination with the exterior terraces and their two cloisters.
This special property has all of the ingredients to become a point for tourism in the region and to serve as a meeting place for many different types of celebrations and events, which will all be enhanced by the sheer historic value of this location.

Corias is small parish located in the south-west of Asturias, within the municipality of Cangas del Narcea. It is fair to say that the guests will be sleeping in the village’s real attraction of note but the hotel does make an excellent base for exploring the Natural Park of Fuentes del Narcea, Degaña and Ibias. This beautiful natural area is framed by rivers and is home to a diverse variety of brown bears, capercaillie and wolf, as well as the peregrine falcon, Pyrenean desman, roe deer, wild cats and martens. Guests can visit and walk routes designed to protect the flora and fauna.
The Parador’s location roughly half way between Santander and Santiago de Compostela makes it an ideal resting place for those touring the north of the country, and its location close to the cities of León as well as the Picos de Europa makes it a convenient base for exploring this part of Spain.
