The government have finally relaxed the rules for re-entry into the UK which had been complicating arrangements for British holidaymakers returning home this summer from countries on the amber list like Spain, Portugal and France.
From the 4th of October simpler rules will apply which are much cheaper and easier to comply with.
For those travelling to Spain and Portugal, only proof of double vaccination is required at the border (and a short health form to be completed) and on the return to the UK, no test is required before arrival back here. A passenger locator form is still required to be completed before arrival in the UK but once back in the country, only a ‘Day 2’ test is required. Steps are also being taken to facilitate cheaper ‘Day 2’ tests (of the antigen and lateral flow test variety). These are very positive steps towards facilitating overseas travel at last!
This minimises the amount of paperwork and expense required for people travelling to France, Spain and Portugal where the levels of Covid infection are far lower than here in the UK.

Andalucia offers free Covid insurance for travellers until the end of the year, and with its warmer temperatures and outdoor lifestyle continuing into to mid – late November, like its neighbour the Algarve, there are still some wonderful opportunities for heading off to explore abroad and enjoy more sunshine before the end of the year.
